In the same case referred to above, the landlord claimed for repairs to the wiring and fuses, citing that the tenant had more than the allowed number of occupants in the premises and had overloaded the circuits. MORE

The same case also considered a claim by a landlord for the replacement of a table and chairs. The evidence showed that the items were either missing or damaged beyond repair. MORE

A recent decision of the Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal in New South Wales considered a claim by a landlord for the replacement of the bed allegedly damaged by the tenant during the tenancy. MORE

It is important to remember that just because a tenant damages property of the landlord, does not always mean that the landlord is entitled to compensation. MORE
